  • The Royal Livingstone
The first class Sun International Hotel bears the name of David Livingstone, the man who discovered the now famous waterfalls and christened them Victoria Falls, after the Queen of England.
The reception area of this "Leading Hotels of the World" is surrounded by a courtyard with fountains and steeped in the scent of the herb garden. Guests can relax in the cosy seating unit on the lobby veranda, admits decorative pillars, or select a book from the hotel library. Pictures in the lounge recall the exciting adventures of Livingstone.

Accommodation/Amenities: Honeymooners who reside in the Royal Livingstone enjoy the view of Zambia River. The hotel has 173 en-suite rooms, three suites with separate lounge and bedroom, as well as a President's Suite with two extra bedrooms. The two-storied Colonial manor-style villas, each with ten units that have their own veranda or terrace, breathe the elegance of a bygone era. Hand-woven carpets, pictures of animals, and the colour-scheme of green, cream and ivory create a splendid ambience. However, the rooms are dominated by African elements that remind the visitor that he is at one of the most historically important places in Africa.

All of the rooms have individually adjustable air-conditioning, satellite TV, radio and video, mini-safe and voicemail-telephone. Room service is available and meals are served on one's own veranda if desired. However, the real highlight is a romantic dinner directly at the cliffs of the waterfalls!

Activities: You will find a gambling casino, several shopping opportunities, stands with local arts and crafts and a bicycle-rental in the entertainment centre "The Falls". It is possible to make safari trips both on land and water or to go fishing or horse-riding. Water-rafting, bungee-jumping, parachuting or climbing are available and you can book helicopter- or light aircraft-tours over the waterfalls or the Zambesi.
