Thai Wedding Ceremony:
Buddhism is a religion as well as a philosophy. The open-minded nature of this belief
also allows couples who do not practise Buddhism to get married by a
traditional Thai wedding ceremony. Several Buddhist monks are invited to the
wedding. The ceremony begins with a prayer by the monks. Afterwards,
the monks intone chants and bless the wedding couple by a traditional Sai Mongkon ritual.
Then special prayers for prosperity and
happiness are recited and the head monk blesses the wedding couple with holy water.
Thereafter, all the wedding guests can congratulate the newly weds at a final
